Fast and Stress-Reducing.

There is an idea that is ingrained in many actors that if they don’t, for example, spend 9 hours on a 3 page audition, getting no sleep, canceling all other life responsibilities, sweating blood, and experiencing crazy levels of stress they’ll never have a killer audition!  NOT TRUE!  

Working professional actors MUST work quickly when on set – they are given large, dense scenes and have very little time to memorize their lines and “work” the material.  These actors MUST have a way to give honest, thrilling performances with very little prep time.  So if this must be done on the professional set, then the actor must learn to do this with the audition!  If they don’t, how will they succeed in the real world of television and film?!  

What has been proven to me by my students’ extremely high booking rate, is that auditioning is much more about the quality of time spent, as opposed to the quantity.  The massive “work” that most actors do on their auditions, when looked at clearly and practically, is really spent fantasizing about the result, and attempting to run from fear and anxiety!  This is why most actors hate auditioning!  

I train my actors to work quickly and boldly, not giving the ego time to take control and manufacture phony line readings, or to obsess endlessly about “getting it right”, but freeing the actor up to act on their organic impulses.  I guarantee, you’ll be amazed at how little prep time you need, especially compared to most audition/acting techniques, to give auditions that are lights out, WTF, star-level grounded and brilliant!
