One of the most common things actors say when they begin training with me is that they know something is missing from their work, but they can’t quite nail down what it is. Well, I think the missing piece is YOU! We are not seeing the REAL YOU during your audition! What we’re seeing is some intellectual idea of a character. We are seeing pre-planned, mannered line readings – we are seeing LIES and not THE TRUTH.
Most actors are weighed down by over-complex techniques that get them deeper into their head and further from their natural impulses and beautiful intuition. Through a SIMPLE (but not easy – it takes practice!) approach, I give actors the tools to make every audition a playing field where they don’t mimic human behavior, but actually display real, spontaneous human behavior.
In the first 5 seconds of your audition, the casting director can either see a “character” or a real human in spontaneous action, i.e. – living in the truth or faking it. I can train you to live the truth and dazzle in those first 5 seconds with each and every audition you do – TO BE A REAL HUMAN BEING – this books the job! This is the art of letting it rip!
